West Kowloon is a relatively new area that has sprung up in the last decade or so; most of it is reclaimed land. It is now an area with many luxury apartment blocks that are particularly popular amongst the mainland Chinese property investors. Recently a high-speed train terminal opened up in the area which connects with the high-speed train network within Mainland China allowing travellers to easily travel to and from China.
