Tai Tam
Tai Tam is famous for its reservoir (which was built in 1908) because prior to the 1964 deal to purchase water from China Hong Kong had been perpetually short of water. On the map Tai Tam occupies a sizeable area which is made up of the reservoirs, mountains and little else. In the foothills there is a sprinkling of high-end residential properties for the well-heeled. There are also several hiking trails from Tai Tam to a number of destinations including Pok Fu Lam, Aberdeen and Wong Nei Chung Gap Road.
