Tai Po

Tai Po (大埔) is a central area within a collection of historic market towns in the Northern Territories of Hong Kong. In the North East of Tai Po is Tai Po Industrial Estate which has been developed on reclaimed land in Tai Po Hoi where the headquarters of South China Morning Post and Asia Television are based. Other mixed industrial units and offices can be found at the Tai Ping Industrial Centre to the west of Ting Kok Road. With its fresh air, open spaces, modern amenities and low rents, Tai Po is a popular area for many and it provides a good mix of old and new where the rural lifestyle and the city-life blend nicely. It's considered a very safe, family-friendly area to live with many options to keep children busy. Tai Po provides good transport in and around the area thanks to its many shuttle buses, and the Tolo Highway offers good integration with the other nearby areas as well. Getting to Central is reasonably convenient too, with just over an hour by public transport or 40 minutes by taxi. There is no shortage of residential property in Tai Po with plenty of options for everyone from village houses to more luxurious villas. Tai Po has the following housing schemes; Home Ownership Scheme, Private Sector Participation Scheme, Sandwich Class Housing Scheme, Flat-for-Sale Scheme, and Tenants Purchase Scheme. Notable places of interest in the area include the 500,000 square feet Tsz Shan Monastery and the world’s tallest bronze statue of Guan Yin standing at 76 meters.
