Tai Po Kau

Just South of Tai Po town in New Territories is Tai Po Kau (大埔滘), a low-density residential area that looks out onto the Tolo Harbour and which was the site of the former Tai Po Kau Station on the Kowloon-Canton Railway. If you are a nature lover or outdoor adventurer, then you will enjoy the lush green forests and tranquil waters that are abundant in the beautiful scenic country park known as Tai Po Kau Nature Reserve. For those who don't like to stray too far from city life, Tai Po Kau's popular hiking trails and other scenic attractions are located surprisingly close to the much larger urban area of Tai Po town. Other notable places of interest in Tai Po Kau include the Lake Egret National Park which is home to Core Aqua Park (Hong Kong’s biggest inflatable water park) and the Japanese International Primary School, an authorised International Baccalaureate (IB).
